SURF is currently developing an app called the CopyRIGHT tool. UvO took on an advisory role in the development of this tool. The goal is to integrate this tool with the various digital learning environments (f.e. BlackBoard), so that educators and staff can easily see which publications have been bought off through licenses or through the Easy Access agreement. The tool will also provide information about open access alternatives.
Some pilots are currently conducted at universities and at universities of applied sciences. The CopyRIGHT tool is scheduled to go live in September 2023.
