What counts as a ‘publication’ when I use an article/paper from a journal?

The issue or edition in which the article or paper appeared.

For articles or papers, you may also use up to 50 pages from a publication, provided that this is a maximum of 25% of the original publication. By ‘original publication’ we mean: the number / issue / edition of the journal.

For example: You want to use an article from journal X (volume 10, number 1). That particular edition has 60 pages, so you can use a maximum of 15 pages, as that is 25% of the original publication. This ‘reuse’ has been bought off by your university of applied sciences (HBO).

NB: For journals where the page numbering continues throughout the year, the number of pages in the edition in which the article/paper appeared is leading.
